the Clockwork Talk approach to developing powerful presenters
helping you present powerfully in the moments that matter to you
That might be:
Securing approval for a set of important recommendations
Building stakeholder support for a major new initiative
Explaining complex information clearly so people can make informed decisions
Gaining buy-in from executives or the board around a new strategy
Delivering a difficult message to your team about a significant change
Being asked to share your perspective unexpectedly in a meeting
what becomes possible when you become a powerful presenter
You walk into high-stakes meetings, events, or conversations feeling composed and confident instead of worrying about how you’re coming across or second-guessing yourself afterward.
You sit across from the most senior, accomplished people in the room and feel like you belong there, rather than letting nerves or self-doubt make you feel smaller than your expertise warrants.
You can take something you know inside and out and make it easy for others to understand, without overwhelming them with everything you know.
When someone pushes back, challenges your thinking, or asks the question you weren't prepared for, you can stay composed, think clearly, and respond with confidence.
You can present an idea people aren't initially behind and know how to change minds, build support, and get the decision you came for.
The way you communicate when people are watching and listening reinforces their confidence in you as a leader, rather than leaving them questioning whether you're ready.
the
clockwork talk
approach
The name Clockwork Talk was inspired by my grandfather, a clockmaker who was meticulous about making sure that all the gears within a timepiece worked seamlessly together to produce accurate, predictable time. The same is true for presenting. When all the gears essential to presenting effectively work seamlessly together, communication produces predictable, reliable results.
The key to presenting powerfully isn’t mastering just one of those gears. For every communication, regardless of the audience or setting, all the gears must work in unison to be successful: defining a clear outcome, crafting the right message, delivering it with impact, and handling questions skillfully.
